We’ve had a great year supporting the Academy Motorsport team and couldn’t be more pleased for their drivers Erik Cowley and Matt Evans who brought home the winner’s trophy after an almighty finale on Sunday at Donnington Park.

It was a nail-biting day as going into the race there were still six of the 17 GT4 entrants all with the title in their reach. Starting the day with a 16.5-point deficit Erik & Matt in the #61 Mustang had to overcome significant odds to secure 1st. Academy’s newest recruit Evans took the wheel first, and managed to wind his way from seventh up to third place ahead of competition favourites Optimum Motorsport. After the pit stop changeover added time, Cowley rejoined the race all the way down at 10^th position, but charged his way forward to gain 1^st ahead of Race Lab’s McLaren Artura.

Will Moore and Matt Nicoll-Jones also succeeded finishing in 5^th with the teams other #62 car – earning them Silver overall in the teams Championship and making this Academy Motorsports most successful British GT to date in their sixth generation Ford Mustangs, developed by Multimatic Motorsport and Ford Performance.
