Porsche Cayman GT - Track Car Build

All of us at Nemesis UK are track day addicts and love our performance cars. Our avid Porsche aficionado Paul has always had his eye on a GT model, but never been able to order from the dealer (unless you’re on their special list). He decided it was time to build our own. Being able to source all the parts needed from our range of top manufacturers and suppliers, it was the logical thing to do. Working closely with SVP Motorsport locally in Inkberrow, we set about developing our own ultimate and capable 987 PDK Cayman, relying on their professional advice, recommendations and installation to complete the build.

Firstly, we addressed stopping power, fitting Alcon GT3RS front discs and Pagid R29 racing disc pads all-round. To complete the braking system, we added a GT3 master brake cylinder and Endless racing brake fluid for more feel and hotter running.

Porsche suspension (whilst brilliant, but a bit tired on this car) was replaced with KW Suspensions SV Spec. Type 3 Coilovers with ride height, bump and rebound adjustability. We added GT3 cup front lower arms and geometry to give us increased castor.

For added track grip, we fitted Volks Racing Enkei 18 x 10 front wheels and 18 x 11 rears, with Eibach 25mm rear wheel spacers. All wrapped in Nankang NR2 semi slick tyres.

A Quaife ATB Helical LSD differential was fitted to ensure we had the best possible traction on track.

A GT4 rear wing has been fitted for additional down force and we are in the process of sourcing a suitable front splitter to help balance the car.

To enhance engine performance, we improved induction by de-snorkelling the inlet, and adding a IPD plenum, with GT3 82mm throttle body. Exhaust flow was assisted using a Soul Performance and custom built switchable stainless steel exhaust system with performance de-cat high flow manifolds. The self-learning engine management system has made the necessary remapping to get the best performance from these additions.

For increased safety and optimum track support, we installed Cobra bucket racing seats and TRS 6-point race harnesses attached to a MSUK approved harness bar. Adding to the interior and for track feel, a OMP Sports Steering Wheel and Boss, with SV Geartronics Paddle Shift Conversion.
